They have been staying in Venice for a few days now and he's starting to grow tired of the weather. It is muggy, it is sick and as a tourist, he feels no obligation to be forgiving. Quietly, he gets up from bed and feels the dull ache crawl from his thighs to his knees to his legs. A discreet yawn escapes his mouth before he reaches the window hidden behind heavy curtains. The carpet beneath his feet feels tough and dry, but is a welcome sensation. He'd much prefer this than running in leather shoes, traversing foreign streets - almost in flight but not quite.
